Coach Development Workshop - Mon 19th March
Date of Event : Thu Mar 1, 2018 8:21AM

The Office of Sport will be hosting a Coach Development Workshop to be held on Monday evening March 19 in Broadmeadow. Aimed at community sport coaches this workshop focuses on upskilling participants across a range of aspects.

From coaching teams for the first time to working with an array of athletes and working in pathways teams this workshop will have something for everyone no matter where they are on their journey as a community sport coach.

  1. “So now you’re a coach” Targeted at first-year coaches, or perhaps those that did their first year of coaching recently. Bronwyn White from Athletics NSW looks at hints/tips and examples of how to approach a coaching role for someone doing it for the first time.
  2. “Inclusive coaching” From New Lambton Bowling Club coach Allan Starrett looks at inclusive coaching practices. Ideas from specific sports and other related fields.
  3. “That kid is good/what’s next for me” From Cricket NSW Brett Rankin chats about those wanting to improve their coaching in situations with talented kids in teams. Plus how a coach can work towards coaching rep teams and improve themselves as a coach should they wish to progress as coaches.

In addition to the three segments there will be a panel discussion at the end of the evening to expand on any topics discussed during the evening.

This is a set of theory workshops.
