Positions Vacant - Cricket Blast Coordinators and Coach Leads

The Newcastle Junior Cricket Association are seeking Master Blaster Coordinators and Master Blaster Coach Leads for upcoming Woolworths Cricket Blast centres across greater Newcastle. All programs run for 8 weeks at the following venues:

Monday - No 1 Sportsground 5.30 - 7pm
Wednesday - Ford Oval Lambton 6 - 7.30pm 
Wednesday - Ferodale Oval, Medowie 5.30 - 7pm
Thursday - John Street Oval, Warners Bay 5.30 - 7pm
Friday - Ron Hill Oval, Toronto 5 - 6.30pm

Applications must be received to Sharyn Beck via email no later than 5pm on Friday, 21st September, 2018. Please consider the position descriptions below and advise your preference for location/s. 


As a Master Blasters Program Coordinator you will support the administration and be responsible for set up, coordination and delivery of the program at a designated location
Collate team managers’ contact details to send through newsletters and communications.
Ensure facilities are open, clean and ready to use.
Set up all equipment at the Cricket Blast Centre, and ensure each field has adequate equipment.
Ensure all participants have a team.
Introduction at the start of the night including a welcome, the Skills Zone focus and then direct squads to their fields.
Ensure all kids are actively involved
Ensure safety measures are in place
Deliver the prescribed Skills Zone
Engage with parents and volunteers and act as a contact person.
Ensure music is playing throughout all of the session.
Ensure all equipment is packed away and inform the state/ territory staff if replacement equipment is required.
Ensure facility is left clean and tidy.
Prior to leaving, make sure all kids are collected by a parent and not left unattended at the end of the night.


As a Blast Coach Leac you will work with the Master Blaster Program Coordinator and be responsible for the set-up, coordination and delivery of the Skills Zone at your Cricket Blast centres.
The Skills Zone plays an integral part in making sure that the kids leave Cricket Blast with the required skills to competently participate in junior cricket
Ensure you have enough equipment for the skill focus activity.
Ensure the Skills Zone is set up and ready for the start of the session.
Ensure there is an equal participation opportunity during all of the activities.
Create a safe environment that is fun.
Encourage parents and/or Blast Coaches to assist in the delivery of activities and games.
Manage the kids as they move in and out of the Skills Zone, and that they all understand the activity and the skill focus.
Encourage and provide feedback to players and parents.
Adjust the activities where necessary to fit in with varying abilities to maximise enjoyment and participation.
Ensure all equipment from the Skills Zone is packed away and inform the state/territory staff if replacement equipment is required.
